GRAMERCY – Floyd Charles Alleman Sr. (Gizmo), 67, a native of Lutcher and a resident of Gramercy, died May 9. He was the husband of Betty Lambert Alleman.

He is survived by his children Floyd (Rachel) Jr. and Craig Alleman, Anna (Darren) Vollenweider.

He is also survived by his mother Marie H. Alleman, five brothers Charles, George, Cecil, Lawrence and Douglas “Bunny” Alleman and four grandchildren Megan and Ryan Alleman, Alexis and Emma Vollenweider.

Services were held May 13 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gramercy, with internment in the St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina.

BARBIER

ST. JAMES – Gladys Brignac Barbier, 90, a native of St. James and a resident of Harvey, died May 10. She was the wife of the late Hubert Barbier.

She is survived by her children Gerald (Beatrice) Barbier, Patricia (late Elward) Cortez, Margaret (Carl) Chaisson, Percy (Ann) Barbier, Hubert (Kathleen) Barbier Jr. and Leslie (Bobby) Ledet.

She is also survived by her sister Rita Kaul, brother Julian Brignac, 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Services were held May 12 at St. Rosalie Catholic Church, Harvey, with internment in Westlawn Memorial Park.

BRISBON

VACHERIE – Dora B. Brisbon, 85, a native of Vacherie and a resident of New Orleans, died May 7. She was the mother of Ruby Williams Dennis.

She is survived by five grandchildren Melvin, Marvin, Michael, Joseph and Donna Williams, six great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at the New Hope Baptist Church, New Orleans, with internment in the Holt Cemetery.

CHATELAIN

LAPLACE – Barbara Stafford Chatelain, 57, a native of New Orleans and resident of LaPlace, died May 9. She was the wife of David Chatelain.

She is survived by her son Andrew Chauvin and her mother Mary Authement Stafford.

She was preceded in death by her father Adam Ray Stafford and her brother Mark A. Stafford.

Services will be private and arranged by Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, New Orleans.

LAPLACE – Patrick Shawn Hayden, 48, a native of Hamilton, Ohio and resident of LaPlace, died May 10. He was the husband of Evelyn P. Hayden.

He is survived by his parents Jack and Nancy Hayden and step-son Michael Chaney.

He is also survived by his siblings Laurie Oleksa and Ross Hayden and his niece and nephew Caitlin and Danny Oleksa.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at the Millet-Guidry Funeral Home chapel, LaPlace, with internment in the St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.

HYMEL

VACHERIE – Barbara Gayle Gendron Hymel, 71, a native of Edgard and a resident of Vacherie, died May 11. She was the wife of the late Lynn G. Hymel.

She is survived by her children Mary (Gene) Chabaud, Daniel (Darla) Hymel, Susan (Richard) Condon, Danielle (Brian) Dubreuil and Edward (Patti) Hymel.

She is also survived by her siblings Carlyn Rome, Wanda Caire, Marcia Gaudet, C.P. Gendron Jr. and Ray Gendron and 12 grandchildren.

Services will be held today at noon at the St. Philip Catholic Church, Vacherie, with internment in the St. Philip Mausoleum, Vacherie.

NORCO – Earline Vicknair Larousse, 70, a native of Edgard and resident of Norco, died May 9. She was the wife of the late Wilton Larousse Sr.

She is survived by her children Wilton Jr. (Ute) Larousse and Ronald Simoneaux.

She is also survived by her siblings Zephyrain Jr., Raoul, Wallace and Nelson Vicknair, Anabelle Gaubert, Doris Guillot, Dora Ann Newsome, Jeanette DeCampo and two grandchildren Cassandra and Jasmin Larousse.

RESERVE – Sydney Reck Morvant, 82, a native of Reserve and resident of Shallmar, Fl., died May 8. She was the wife of the late Robert J. Reck by first Marriage and Warren Morvant Sr. by second marriage.

She is survived by her children James Reck and Mary Andrulot. She is also survived by five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held May 13 at the St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, with internment in the church cemetery.

SCOTT

LUTCHER – Irene Scott, 82, a native and resident of Lutcher, died May 8. She was the wife of the late Samuel Scott.

She is survived by her caregivers Orabelle Bazille and Lillian Price and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents Ben and Emma Lebray, four brothers Rev. James Williams Sr., Berman Lebray Sr., Arthur Williams and Alvin Lebray.

Services will be held today at 11 a.m. at King Triumph Baptist Church, Lutcher, with internment in the Western Cemetery, Lutcher.

ST. JAMES – Shakira Jonea’ Celestin Sylve, 27, a native of St. James and a resident of Gonzales, died May 7. She was the wife of Adam E. Sylve Sr.

She is survived by her son Adam E. Sylve Jr. and her parents Elvincent “Pokey” and Carol D. Celestin. She is also survived by her siblings Keith and Kevin Celestin and Valerie (Roderick) Lewis and her grandmothers Carolyn Hawkins and Dorothy Celestin. She was preceded in death by her daughter A’Kira Jonea Celestin and grandfathers Jack Hawkins and Lionel Celestin Sr.
