ALLEMAN
METAIRIE – Linda Wray Allen Alleman, 65, a native of Baton Rouge and resident of Hahnville for 31 years, died Feb. 2. She was the wife of Samuel Alleman and mother of Kathryn Liberty, Samuel Jr., Chauvin and Thomas Alleman.
She was also the daughter of the late Mary Haynes Allen Nason nd Leslie Allen, and sis ter of Mary Warmack, Myrtle “Muff” Secrest and Malva “Tinka” Calvert.
She is also survived by four grandchildren.
Services are at 10 a.m., in the chapel of L.A. Muhleisen & Son Funeral Home, Metairie. Graveside services are at 1 p.m., at Green Oaks Cemetery, Baton Rouge. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
BAILEY
VACHERIE – Irma Harris Bailey, a resident of Vacherie, died Feb. 2. She was the wife of the late Porter Bailey, and mother of Debra Celestin, Earl Bailey Sr., and the late Herman Bailey, Kathy and JoAnn Celestin.
She was also the daughter of the late Charles and Victoria Harris, and sister of thelate Florence Davis, Alma Burke, Pearl Sylvain, Leroy, Charles and Herman Harris.
She is also survived by six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Services are today at 11 a.m., at First Baptist Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church cemetery. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
DUFRENE
DES ALLEMANDS – Terry J. Dufrene Jr., 70, a native and resident of Des Allemands, died Feb. 2. He was the husband of Clara Bell Usie Dufrene and father of Rosalind Lewis, Lisa Breaux, Robyn Griffin, Lucia Savoie, Terry Jr., and Albert Dufrene.
He was also the son of the late Albert and Josephine Touchard Dufrene, and brother of Earline Gaudent and Roland Dufrene.
He is also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Services were Feb. 4 at St. Gertrude Catholic Church, Des Allemands, with interment at the church cemetery.
JARREAU
RESERVE – Albert “Pineapple” Jarreau Sr., 77, a native of Convent and resident of Reserve for 65 years, died Feb. 2. He was the husband of Elma Richard Jarreau and father of Joy Cantrelle, Robert Jr., and Wayne Jarreau.
He was also the brother of Willie, Paul, and the late Harry, Milton and Margaret Jarreau.
He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and seven grandchildren.
Services were Feb. 3 at St. Peter Catholic Church, Reserve, with interment at the church cemetery.
KIMLER
LAPLACE – Donald Kimler, 84, a native of Newton, Iowa, and resident of LaPlace for 30 years, died Jan. 31. He was the husband of Minnie Kimler and father of Mary Jane Giglio, Myrtle Simoneaux, David Kimler, and the late Patricia Castellaw.
He was also the son of the late Homer and Stella Kimler, and brother of the late James Kimler.
He is also survived by four grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Services were Feb. 3 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. John Memorial Gardens, LaPlace.
KRAEMER
PAULINA – Kermit Joseph Kraemer Sr., 88, a resident of Lutcher, died Jan. 31. He was the husband of the late Madeline Dugas Kraemer, and father of Gail Grob, Norvin and Kermit Kraemer Jr.
He was also the son of the late Theodore and Melanie Rodrigue Kraemer, stepson of the late Clementine Peltier Kraemer, brother of Ruby Morton, and the late Loredle Duhe, Grace, Norvin, Chester and Clyde Kraemer.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was a life member of St. James Boat Club, life member of Ponchatoula Fire Department, life member of Louisiana State Volunteer Firemen’s Association, VFW Post 5852 and Freeport Retirees Club.
Services were Feb. 2 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, with interment at the church cemetery.
MELANCON
LUTCHER – Donald Melancon Sr., 54. A native of Convent and resident of Reserve, died Feb. 1. He was the husband of Betty Smith Melancon and father of Leslie Fluence, LaShonda Henderson, Donald Jr., and Durrell “Lil Bit” Melancon
He was also the son of the late Daniel and Lillie Melancon, and brother of Evangelist Betty Harvey and Roy Melancon.
Services are today at 10 a.m., at St. Joe Missionary Baptist Church, Lutcher, with interment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions. Visitation starts at 9 a.m.
NICHOLAS
LULING – Cecile Bergeron Nicholas, 84, a native and resident of St. Charles Parish, died Feb. 3. She was the wife of the late Jay Baptists Nicholas, and mother of Brian Nicholas.
She was also the daughter of the late Walter and Cecile Ledet Nicholas, and sister of Mae Schmill, Marie St. Pe, Edith Schmill, Joseph, Alfred and Ferdinand Bergeron and 10 siblings who did not reach adulthood.
She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary and VFW Auxiliary of Luling and Catholic Daughters of the Sacred Heart in Norco.
Services are Feb. 7 at noon at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Luling, with interment at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery, Destrehan. Visitation is 9 a.m. to noon on Feb. 7
SMITH
DES ALLEMANDS – Virginia “Tee Nanny” Smith, 62, a native and resident of Boutte, died Jan. 27. She was the wife of the late James Smith Jr., and mother of Deidre Taylor, James, Gregory and Vanessa Smith.
She was also the daughter of Thelma Pierre Myles, and the late Harden Myles. She is also survived by six sisters and two brothers.
She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services were Feb. 3 at Antioch Baptist Church, Des Allemands, with interment at Shell Mound Cemetery, Des Allemands.
