In August we look forward to Back to School and Football Season.

South Central LA Technical College is gearing up for the fall semester. The last day of regular registration is Aug. 14. Classes begin Aug. 19.

Current projections show as many as 1,000 students on campus this fall. In the next three weeks there will be over 300 new freshman going through orientation.

While the New Orleans Saints get in shape at the Greenbriar training facility in West Virginia, faculty and staff at SCL Technical CollegeĀ  prepare for the new semester at SCL Technical College.

With the new semester comes all the preparations for the new and returning students.

Staff are processing and notifying students with acceptance letters and further instructions on what they need to do before reporting to their first class.

Book lists are distributed and the book store begins to fill orders. Instructors prepare lesson plans, syllabi, equipment and their classrooms.

Adjunct instructors are a large part in the scheme of things. They are individuals with knowledge and experience that lend itself to our teaching environment. These instructors teach as little as three hours a week, and schedules are flexible based on class time. It is a rewarding feeling to lend your knowledge and years of experience to the work force of tomorrow.

If you have experience in one of our fields of study, we would like to talk with you about the possibility of a part time teaching position. Go to our website at
scl.edu under the employment tab and fill out an application.

Adjunct instructors are not required to be certified teachers.
