LAPLACE — Thanksgiving travelers encountered an odd sight Thursday on Belle Terre Boulevard in LaPlace — a plane landing.

According to the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office, the small plane out of the Reserve airport held the pilot and one passenger.

It encountered engine trouble, forcing the pilot to land, which was done safely on Belle Terre Boulevard.

No one on the plane or ground was injured, according to the Sheriff’s Office, which added in a release no damage to plane or anything on the ground was reported.
