f0fs24 cf0 River Region Chamber rallies at Legislature for LAA project

LAPLACE ‘d0’d0 The Chamber Rally held on Wednesday in support of the Louisiana Airport Authority (LAA) and the Louisiana Transportation Center (LTC) proved to have the support of many for the construction of the new airport in Donaldsonville.

River Region Chamber Chairman Conley Dutreix said the rally went very well and around 150 people showed for the event, including local and state legislators, Chamber representatives and 20 chamber members.

‘d2There were three major issues,’d3 said Dutreix. ‘d2Jobs, the future of the state and the children and the opportunity economically impact this area and the state.’d3

Dutreix said the Chamber made sure they showed up to ‘d2ensure that $4.3 million is put into the budget and funded’d3 for this project. An estimated $3.7 million is needed to complete the study and the other $6 million will be used for the LAA Commission Operations, he said.
