SOUTH LAFOURCHE-The light may be coming on for the East St. John Baseball team.

They are fielding their positions better with each inning and each game and are still knocking the cover off of the baseball.

The Wildcats picked up yet another district win Thursday afternoon when they defeated South Lafourche, 12-2 on the road.

The game was called after five innings due to the mercy rule.

The win over South Lafourche puts the Wildcats at 14-10 overall and 5-3 in district 6-5A.

Trayvon Lilly was a one man wrecking crew for the Wildcats, picking up the victory on the mound after going five innings and allowing only one earned run on five hits. He also finished the game 3-4 with a pair of home runs and three runs driven in.

Senior centerfielder Ryan Perrilloux also had a solid night, going 2-3 with a home run and a double to go along with a pair of runs driven in.
