2012 Little Miss St. James Spring Pageant needs contestants

The St. James Parish Sugar Queen Committee will be holding its 2012 Little Miss St. James Spring Baby Pageant on Sunday, April 22, at the St. James Parish Welcome Center in Gramercy. The entrance is open to anyone in the state of Louisiana in the following age categories: Baby Miss (girls 3-11 months), Baby King (boys 3–23 months), Tiny Miss (girls 12–23 months), Junior King (boys 2–4 years old), Toddler Miss (girls 2 – 3 years old), Little Miss (girls 4–5 years old), Petite Miss (girls 6–7 years old), Precious Miss (girls 8–9 years old), Deb Miss ( girls 10–11 years old), Junior Miss (girls 12–14 years old), Ms (girls 24 years old and older). The attire is Sunday best for all categories except for Junior Miss and Ms Divisions. For those two categories the attire will be evening gowns. Participation is open to all residents in the state of Louisiana. Admission fee to watch the pageant will be $2. The contestant and one parent will have free admission to the pageant.

 The entry fee to participate is $40 if registered before April 18. There will be a $10 late fee after that date. You can register at the door the day of the pageant. The photogenic fee is $5 extra. All contestants must be registered at least 20 minutes before the listed competition time: Baby Miss – 10 a.m., Baby King – 10:20 a.m., Tiny Miss – 10:40 a.m., Junior King – 11 a.m., Toddler Miss – 11:20 a.m., Little Miss – 12:20 p.m., Petite Miss – 12:40 p.m., Precious Miss – 1 p.m., Deb Miss – 1:20 p.m., Junior Miss – 1:40 p.m., Ms – 2 p.m.

All categories will have a queen/king, and first-fourth runner ups. All winners will receive a sash, crown, medal and flowers. Each category will have a fashion award, prettiest hair, prettiest smile, prettiest eyes and most photogenic award. The committee will have the right to combine categories if necessary. All proceeds will serve as funding for the Miss St. James Pageant which will be held June 23.
