LAPLACE – St. John the Baptist Parish Parks & Recreation Department kicked off the summer swimming season this week with the opening of the Parish public pools. The Eastbank pool is located at 194 Regala Park Road in Reserve and the Westbank pool is located at 136 Castle Drive in Edgard.

The Parks & Recreation Summer Camp and other Parish camps will have an opportunity to use the facility daily during private hours and the pool will be open to the public on Tuesdays through Sundays throughout the summer.

Pool hours of operation are listed below:

Monday – Closed

Tuesday – 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Wednesday – 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Thursday – 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Friday – 2 p.m. – 5 p.m

Saturday – 2 p.m. – 6 p.m.

 Sunday – 2 p.m. – 6 p.m.

The recreation department is also working toward implementing the Ashley Kelley Swim Program again this year to provide free swimming lessons for Parish youth. More information about the program will be released once finalized.
