 Louisiana CASA is holding a 10-part educational series titled Changing Children’s Stories through 2022. Changing Children’s Stories will be online and presented by a statewide network of subject matter experts with first-hand experience working in the child welfare field. The educational series is free and open to all residents in Louisiana. It will be especially beneficial for social workers, educators, attorneys, judges, CASA volunteers, caregivers, and caring community members.

Child abuse and neglect affects thousands of children in our state, 1 in 7 children are a victim each year. Through Changing Children’s Stories, Louisiana CASA hopes to bring awareness to this issue and educate people on how we all play a part in preventing child abuse and neglect in our communities.

Changing Children’s Stories will go over a variety of topics focused on protective factors, strengthening children and families, and building stronger communities. The first three sessions are Early Childhood Experiences: What Research Tells Us About Brain Development (8/26/21) , Understanding ACEs: Building Self-Healing Communities (9/30/21), and Resilience (10/28/21).
