Samuel Ray, brilliant artist, expert craftsman, and loving husband to Alison Ray, was taken unexpectedly on May 13, 2021.
He is survived by his parents, Joe and Laurie Ray, siblings, Matt and Katie Ray, grandparents Wilbur and Mary Linda Butts and Freedonia Ray. He is preceded in death by his grandfather Leonard Ray Sr. He will be sorely missed by his niece Eliana Ray, as well as many cousins, aunt and uncles.
Sam was born August 10,1990 in Panama City Florida. He met his wife, Ali in middle school at Reserve Christian School and from then on they were inseparable and were married for twelve years. He graduated from the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts and went on to excel in painting, sculpture, music, and woodworking, among many other things. He was a veteran serving in the Navy and deployed on the U.S.S. Whidbey Island. He and his wife have spent the last two years volunteering for a Christian ministry in Florida called Covenant House.
Sam was a genuinely compassionate friend to all who knew him and expressed his love through- often extraordinary- acts of service. He and his siblings all found a close bond through music. His impact on those who knew him is beyond measure and he will be dearly missed.
