LAPLACE–Just before 3 p.m. Friday, the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a single vehicle accident at the intersection West Fifth Street and Orange Loop in LaPlace.

The car struck a telephone pole, cracking it in half and causing an electrical outage in the surrounding area.

Two individuals were transported to Ochsner, according to Sheriff Mike Tregre. No further information was known as of press time Friday.
