LAPLACE — The 2020 LHSAA boys basketball playoff brackets were released this week, and three St. John the Baptist Parish schools made the cut.

Game results were not available as of press time for St. Charles Catholic’s Friday night match against No. 10 Ascension Episcopal in the regional round of the Division III playoffs. The Comets entered the playoffs ranked No. 7 with a 23-11 record. The winner of the game is advancing to face No. 2 Lafayette Christian in the quarterfinals.

No. 12 seed West St. John hosted the bi-district round and took on No. 21 Delta Charter after press time Friday. While it has been a rocky season for the Rams, culminating in a 12-18 record, they were favored to win the first round of competition. The winner is advancing to play No. 5 Oak Grove in the regional round.

Riverside Academy begins its playoff run at the regional round. The No. 8 Rebels will host No. 9 Central Catholic at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Reserve. The victorious team will likely face No. 1 Crescent City in the quarterfinals, which must be played by March 6.
