EDGARD — St. John the Baptist Parish District 1 Councilman Kurt Becnel announced plans to seek re-election to his current council seat.

Parish Council elections will be held Oct. 12.

“I am running for re-election in District 1,” Becnel said. “I have tried to serve as a loyal servant to you, with honesty and integrity! You deserve no less, and I pledge my sincere and earnest effort to help make District 1 a better place, serving you, and the residents of St. John the Baptist Parish.”
