St. John fair highlights young scientists

The St. John the Baptist Parish Public School District recently held its District Science Fair.

Students first had to win at their school level fairs to compete at the district level.

Winners move on to the regional fair to compete against students from other districts.

Winners at the District Science Fair were:

Division I (Elementary)

Energy: Physical: first place, Carlo Travis, STEM; second place, Roderick Bergeron, JLO; third place, Mason James, LES

Behavioral and Social Sciences: first place, Skyler Doster and Denim Selders, GMMS; second place, Alexis Baker and Davante Smith, STEM

Engineering Mechanics: first place, Emani Payne, STEM; second place, Malachi Batiste, WSJE

LaPlace Elementary School student Alyssa Munoz won first place in Biomedical Engineering at the St. John the Baptist Parish Public Schools’ District Science Fair for her project on Identifying DNA.
