My sister Kay Serven died Oct. 29, 2018, at 8 a.m.

Her love, joy and generosity were limitless. Her infectious laugh, ability to create and sing a song on the spot, and eagerness to dance anywhere and at any time are only a couple of the millions of things we already miss.

Our hearts ache. Yet in the midst of the darkest days we’ve ever known, God’s grace is greater than we ever could have imagined.

We are comforted by His presence, calmed by His peace and know that nothing could ever separate us from His unending love.

Bill Bennot wrote, “How we walk with the broken speaks louder than how we sit with the great.”

Not only is God walking with us through this journey, He has sent people to help us. The gifts of food, the shoulders to cry on and the prayers, phone calls and messages have combined to form pillars of strength, which we lean on. Not one act of your kindness has gone unnoticed.

Kay is now enjoying the Heavenly home that God prepared for her, and we will all be reunited in that beautiful place where there are no tears, pain or sorrow.

In the meantime, the memories we have of her life will be shared over and over, and each time we will thank God for the precious gift of her incredible life.

“I will never forget this awful time, as I grieve over my loss. Yet I still dare to hope when I remember this: The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is His faithfulness; His mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, ‘The Lord is my inheritance; therefore I will hope in Him” Lamentations 3:20-24.
