A few St. John the Baptist Parish police officers, along with Sheriff Mike Tregre, visited Lake Pontchartrain Elementary for a friendly volleyball game on May 12, 2023 at the LaPlace school.

Sheriff Mike Tregre said the SJSO values this kind of event because it gives officers a chance to get out in the community and interact with local youth. “It’s a way to build to connect with students, and it helped students see that law enforcement officers are just like regular people who want to have fun, too,” Sheriff Tregre said.
