High School Boys’ Basketball playoffs continue

This week marked the beginning of the playoffs for local high school basketball. The first of the games began February 23 with the Division III select, which St. Charles Catholic is a part of. SCC, currently ranked #7, has earned a bye week and its first game will be on Tuesday, February 28. The Comets will take on #10 Catholic N.I. Game time is 6:30 p.m. in the SCC gym located at 100 Dominican Rd in LaPlace.

Most of the teams played on Friday, February 24.

Division I Non-select:

#12 Hahnville hosted #21 Hammond. The score was Hahnville 70 with Hammond 47. The Tigers advance to the next round taking on #5 Ouachita Parish in an away game on Tuesday, February 28.

#23 Destrehan took on #10 Southside in an away game and lost with the score of Southside 81 and Destrehan 52.

#15 East St. John hosted #18 Terrebonne and won with the score of ESJ 47 and Terrebonne 47. EJS will travel on Tuesday to take on #2 Ruston. Game time is 6:30 p.m. in Ruston.

Division II Non-select:

#15 Lutcher hosted #19 Broadmoor. The Dogs won with a score of 56 to 54. The team will travel to play #2 Iowa. Gametime is 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

Division III Non-select:

#25 St. James played at #8 Ville Platt. The Wildcats lost with a score of 83 to 63.

Division IV Select:

#18 Riverside Academy played at #15 Central Private. RA won with the score of 72 to 66. The Rebels will travel to #2 Lincoln Preparatory School
