GREENWICH, Conn. — Three months after being arrested in Las Vegas, 26-year-old Lamoine Ward of LaPlace has been extradited to Connecticut on unrelated charges stemming from a robbery that occurred on June 25.
Ward has been formally charged with first-degree robbery, first-degree assault and conspiracy. Investigators said Ward and his alleged accomplice, 24-year-old Kristen McKenzie of Metairie, were attempting to steal several items from a retail store Greenwhich, Connecticut, when McKenzie was confronted by store employees.
Ward allegedly struck one of the store employees with the SUV he was driving and pointed a firearm at the employee before he and McKenzie drove away.
Ward will appear in court on November 8.
McKenzie has been charged with first-degree robbery, fourth-degree larceny and fourth-degree conspiracy related to the robbery. Both Ward and McKenzie were assigned $1.5 million bonds.
