Comets succeed at the 2022 Literary Rally

LAPLACE — St. Charles Catholic High School students attended Literary Rally in March of 2022, traveling together to Nicholls State University for the annual event. At the Rally, students take master-level tests of the various courses offered in high schools throughout the state, including World and US History, French and Spanish, and the various Mathematics, Science, and English courses offered in each grade level. In addition, certain elective courses send representatives as well, including Art.
Twenty-six of the Comets qualified for the District tests and competitions, and by the end of the District round, 15 Comets had qualified for the State tests and competitions!
The following students placed overall in their subject areas at the District level tests:
Jake Jeandron, Senior- 3rd overall for Physics
Barry Cummins, Senior- 2nd overall for Advanced Math Functions and Statistics
Alejandra Menjivar, Freshman- 3rd overall for French I
Hailey Boeckl, Senior- 2nd overall for Journalism
Brittany Marshall, Senior- honorable mention for Art
The following students were named State Qualifiers:
Barry Cummins, Katherine Bergeron, Aiden Ocmond, Jenna Hickmann, Aimee Dauenhauer, Laney Beadle, Torie Joseph, Alejandra Menjivar, Lily Bordelon, Alexis Monistere, Hailey Boeckl, Chance Favaloro, Jake Jeandron, Sarah Lang, and Juliana Portillo.
The State Competition is in April, and the students will continue to prepare for the big day ahead.
