Detectives with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office Burglary Task Force began investigating several burglaries throughout the south end of Tangipahoa Parish that occurred during the aftermath of the hurricane Ida.

On September 24, 2021, detectives with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office Burglary Task Force were alerted to a business burglary in progress that occurred on Highway 1064 in Tickfaw, La. Detectives along with TPSO Patrol Deputies quickly responded to the incident and were able to take two white females into custody, Brittany Lee (DOB 12/31/1989) and Amanda Cardwell (DOB 08/14/1985) of Hammond, Louisiana.

Detectives later executed several search warrants, recovering pieces of property that were stolen from Simpson Place Neighborhood of Hammond, Louisiana.

Detectives were able to prove that Lee and Cardwell, along with two white males- Zachary Heaton and one who remains unknown, entered several apartments on Simpson Place in Hammond, La and removed multiple belongings. Due to the State of Louisiana being placed under a State of Emergency, the charges were enhanced to Looting.
