Unity in the Community: Neighbors distributing hot meals & supplies today in LaPlace

LAPLACE — District 6 Councilwoman Tonia Schnyder and Dr. James Gilmore Jr., in partnership with the Mants Foundation, will be serving hot lunches and issuing household essentials while supplies last. The distribution event will begin at 2 p.m. today, Sept. 6, at 944 Cambridge Drive in LaPlace.
Victorious Life Family Worship Center Ministries and Friends, in partnership with NLDA and Second Harvest Food Bank, will also be hosting a disaster relief distribution beginning at 2 p.m. today, Sept. 6, at 8896 Richmond Drive in LaPlace. Water, hot meals, tarps, toiletries and baby diapers will be given to residents in need.
The Denny’s Mobile Relief Diner is also serving hot meals today in the Riverlands Shopping Center/ Matherne’s parking lot at 1420 W. Airline Highway in LaPlace. LaPlace is the first location in Louisiana that the Denny’s Mobile Diner is serving.
