LAPLACE — The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office reported Wednesday that a male’s body was discovered in the 3000 block of Main Street in LaPlace. At about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 3, the SJSO responded to a 911 caller who spotted a body on the side of the road.

No foul play is suspected, and the cause of death is pending autopsy results. The identity of the deceased is not being announced at this time, since family notification is underway.
