1989 – First Place – Courtney Wallace, 12, a seventh grader at Our Lady of Grace in Reserve, won first place in her Division II individual category at the regional social studies fair at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux. Her project “Tracking Louisiana’s Unemployment Rates,” qualified her for the regional fair by winning the overall award and first place award at the OLG fair. Wallace will enter her project in the state social studies fair at LSU in Baton Rouge. Wallace, daughter of Evelyn Wallace, of LaPlace, also represented her school in the 1987 and 1988 regional social studies fair after winning overall and first place awards at the OLG fairs.
