2000 – The new taxiway at St. John Airport was officially opened with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The new taxiway will make it safer and more efficient for airplanes to land and take off at the airport. Attending the opening ceremonies are from left pilot Darrell Louque, St. John Airport Manager Rick Moran, Airport Advisory Board members Gene Borne and Rosemary Soropuru, St. John Director of Safety Bertran Madere, St. John Parish President Nickie Monica, St. John Parish Council members Cleveland Farlough and Allan St. Pierre, John Adams of Entergy, and Bill Morris, Norman Volion and Harris Butler.
