L’OBSERVATEUR began posting a weekly reader poll on its Facebook page to engage readers in issues important to our local community. The question for the first poll was, “Would you go out to eat in a sit-down restaurant?”
Votes were cast by 31 of our Facebook friends. This week, 65 percent of readers said they would not eat in a sit down restaurant, and 35 percent said that they would do so.
Besides voting, you can elaborate under the poll by posting comments just like any other Facebook post. Two readers commented, both to elaborate on their “no” vote.
One reader said, “Definitely not. Too many people don’t follow the social distancing rules… so you don’t know who has been exposed to covid, etc.” Another reader seemed as though they might change their mind in the near future and said, “Still not comfortable going to restaurant and sitting down. Will give it some more time before I try it again.”
For the next poll question, we ask, “Do you prefer to shop in-parish (in the River Parishes of St. John, St. James, and St. Charles) or out-of-parish?”
You can vote on our Facebook page and leave comments explaining your choice, if you wish. The results will be available in next Saturday’s L’OBSERVATEUR.
