Reserve gathering leads to gunfire

RESERVE — St. John the Baptist Parish deputies responded to gunfire that erupted during a Wednesday afternoon gathering in the 100 block of Beech Grove Drive in Reserve, according to Sheriff Mike Tregre.
One subject was transported to Ochsner Medical Complex in LaPlace in a private vehicle with a gunshot wound to the leg.
The subject was treated and released. No one else was injured, and the subject is refusing to cooperate with police.
Further information about the size of the gathering was not immediately available as of press time. Residents are encouraged to report gatherings violating Governor John Bel Edwards’ Stay at Home order to the St. John Sheriff’s Office (985-652-9513).
