Comets fly high and shine bright.

LAPLACE — The St. Charles Catholic Comet Cheerleaders attended UCA Cheer Camp at the Crowne Plaza in Baton Rouge July 9 – 11. Despite camp being cut short due to Hurricane Barry, the Comets continued to fly high & shine bright. The 22-member team learned various choreography from staffers consisting of sidelines, cheers, band chant, dance, stunts and pyramid. Each day the team was evaluated on different elements and earned the top rating on both their Cheer and Rally Routine evals. Of the nine seniors who auditioned, seven were named UCA All American – Captain Morgan Figuero, Co-Captains Raigen Cosse & Madi Wilkie, Hanna Bourdonnay, Katelynn Decker, Taelen Jacomine and Madeline Schexnayder. On the final day, the team competed and placed first in Cheer Championship and second in Rally Routine Championship. Additionally, the team earned the highest spirit award taking home the Big Banana!
