LAFAYETTE — Size and athleticism will make David Thibodaux a tough team for St. Charles Catholic to overcome during Monday’s regional playoff game in Lafayette.

Tipoff is at 6 p.m. on David Thibodaux’s home court, signaling the Comets’ first 2019 playoff game since receiving a bye in the bi-district round.

Comets coach Kemper Todd said David Thibodaux is well-coached team and deserving of its No. 5 ranking.

“Their style of play is very similar to what we face in our district and, unfortunately so to is their talent level,” Todd said. “Once we get into district, unfortunately for the past couple of years, we’re just overmatched.

“I certainly think we’ve played to potential, and I expect Monday night to be no different. We’ll lay it all on the line, go do our best and see what happens.”

St. Charles Catholic will approach the game like any other, relying on good ball handling and leadership from the senior scorer Jason Bosco and senior defensive stopper Joseph Mamou.
