Michel: Finding right guide keeps us on perfect path

After I borrowed her Roomba vacuum and kept it for two weeks, my daughter Elise combined resources with her siblings to surprise me with one.

Never did I imagine the dirt that automatic vacuum would find and pick up even after I had swept the floor.

The Roomba goes everywhere. No dirt left behind. It has also pulled a tablecloth off the grandkids’ table, moved the presents under the tree and got lost under a bed.

But no more.

Inside of the Roomba box was a small device I decided to learn about. When placed on the floor and activated, this device, known as a Virtual Wall, emits an invisible barrier to block doorways or create a protective zone around areas the Roomba shouldn’t access.

Now my little vacuum doesn’t get lost or stop working because its wheels are jammed with objects it should avoid.

God’s commands guard me in the same way.

When I apply what I read in the Bible and choose to make it an active part of my life, I believe that I am not only protected, but kept on the right path.

God’s Word is my constant guide.

David wrote it best in Psalm 19:7-11. “God’s laws are perfect. They protect us, make us wise, and give us joy and light. God’s laws are pure, eternal, just. They are more desirable than gold. They are sweeter than honey dripping from a honeycomb. For they warn us away from harm and give success to those who obey them.”
