Andouille Pageant contestants sought

RESERVE — The St. John the Baptist Parish Andouille Pageant Committee is seeking contestants for the 2018 Miss and Teen Andouille Queen Pageants.
The Pageants gets started at 7 p.m. Oct. 13 at St. John Theatre, 115 West 4th St. in Reserve. This year’s theme is “Arabian Nights.”
The committee is recruiting girls for the Miss and Teen Division. To be eligible for participation, contestants must be single with no children, a resident of St. John the Baptist Parish and between the ages of 13-16 for the Teen Division and 17-23 for the Miss Division, on the date of the pageant.
The competition for each division consists of an interview and on-stage promenade.
The Miss Division will include an on-stage question during the evening gown portion. The deadline to register for the Teen and Miss Andouille Queen Pageants is Sept. 24.

Applications can also be turned in at the Andouille Queen Informational Meeting Sept. 24.
Throughout the year, the Andouille Queens travel to many fairs and festivals promoting the St. John the Baptist Parish Andouille Festival.
The queens will reign over the 2018 Andouille Festival Oct. 19-21, as well as participate in various parish and community events as Ambassadors for St. John Parish. The Miss Queen will compete in the Louisiana Queen of Queens Pageant held in February of each year.
The Baby through Junior Miss Andouille Pageants take place Oct. 14 at the St. John Theatre.
Contestants ages 6 months to 12-years-old are needed. Applications will be accepted up to 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time for each pageant category on Oct. 14.
