We need YOU to help build a regional mentality. We are ramping up promotion of a regional workforce development plan for the River Parishes in partnership with La. Calling.

In fact, our local SCLTC – Tech College in Reserve is one of the sites selected by CMT to host an “Empowering Education” concert at 6:30 p.m. today (March 24).

Registration can be made at lctcs.edu. There will be ten $500 scholarships awarded at the event.

The River Region Chamber of Commerce is getting social. Here’s a few great things happening.

For starters, have you liked us on Facebook? Help us reach 1,000! We plan to highlight all of our members with Facebook posts that will allow you to showcase your business.

Just “LIKE” us at facebook.com/riverregionchamber/ and encourage your friends and family to do the same.

A short survey was also sent recently encouraging folks to complete and send in some fun pictures to share to showcase their business. You can see the current spotlights on the Chamber’s Facebook as well.

We know time is our No. 1 competitor. To help you stay connected, we are happy to offer businesses a virtual roundtable! To join, just log onto facebook.com/groups/chamberroundtable/

• The previously stated “leads to lunch” has a new name. Chamber Connections Luncheon will take place at 11:30 a.m. March 29 at Belle Terre Country Club. You can register at riverregionchamber.org/events. If you have any questions regarding this session, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

• Our inaugural fundraiser is set for April 19 at Lutcher Park Pavilion in St. James Parish. We are excited about rotating this great event within the River Region! Ticket prices are $40/per person. Come out and enjoy awesome food, fun and music while catching up with old friends and making new ones. One of our largest attended events, be sure to register either by calling the chamber at 985-359-9777 or visit the Chamber’s website calendar at riverregionchamber.org. Sincerest thanks to St. James Parish Government for working with us to help make this a success!
