Keller: Faith’s family comes with benefits

Not long ago, I saw a bumper sticker that read: “God loves you, but I’m His favorite.”

In some families, you may find a favorite child who receives more than they ask for or deserve.

In God’s family (Christians), the Bible says He blesses the righteous. The righteous aren’t perfect, but it means to be in His family and that qualifies you for His favor.

My prayer for my family is that each one of us will be in God’s favor. The Bible says that a good person will obtain favor from the Lord.

If Jesus is the Lord of your life, that makes you a family member with God the Father as the Head.

Allow me to share the following prayer, which I often say:

“Father, I receive and declare your favor in my life today. I am the righteousness of God and I am entitled to covenant kindness and covenant favor. I thank you for your favor surrounding me like a shield everywhere I go, in everything I do and with everyone I meet. I expect good things to happen in my life because your divine favor is upon me. Your favor in my life is immeasurable, limitless and profusely abounds towards me.

“Father, thank you that your special favor produces supernatural increase, promotion, restoration, honor, increased assets, greater victories, prominence, recognition, preferential treatment, petitions granted, policies and rules changed and battles won in which I do not have to fight. Your spotlight of favor is on my life now. Thank you for causing your face to shine upon me and giving me an abundance of favor with you and with man, in Jesus’ Name. Amen. “
