LaPlace pedestrian killed in Monday night train collision

LAPLACE — A LaPlace man was killed Monday night as a result of injuries suffered when a train hit him.
The victim, identified as 18-year-old De’vante Moore of LaPlace, was killed while trying to cross the tracks at the intersection of Cardinal Street and Milton Street in LaPlace.
The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office was alerted to the collision at 7:51 p.m. Monday. Authorities said the victim was killed while trying to cross the railroad on foot ahead of the train.
