Reserve couple busted for home meth lab shared with 2 children

RESERVE — Two Reserve residents were arrested Tuesday after detectives discovered a meth lab in their home, authorities said.
The Special Operations Division of the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration executed a narcotics search warrant in the 100 block of East 17th Street, arresting Caleb M. Sikes, 27, and Lisa Simoneaux, 27, in the process.
Police said the warrant was obtained after detectives “conducted an investigation that revealed Sikes and Simoneaux were manufacturing methamphetamine at the residence.”
A Sheriff’s Office release noted a “staggering amount of materials used to manufacture methamphetamine” and a small amount of completed product were discovered.
Detectives said the toxic materials were located inside the home shared with the suspects’ two juvenile children.
Sikes is booked with possession or distribution of drug paraphernalia 1st offense (misd), cruelty to juveniles – with force/violence, possession of methamphetamine less than 28 grams (felony), creation or operation of a clandestine laboratory for the unlawful manufacture of a controlled dangerous subject (felony).
He is being held in custody in lieu of a $66,500 bond.
Simoneaux is booked with possession or distribution of drug paraphernalia 1st offense, two counts of cruelty to juveniles – non-violent, possession of methamphetamine less than 28 grams (felony) and creation or operation of a clandestine laboratory for unlawful manufacture of a controlled dangerous substance (felony).
She is being held in custody in lieu $66,500.
