McComack: Chamber keeping busy for businesses

Published 12:02 am Wednesday, October 11, 2017

I hope this finds everyone in kind, happy spirits!

There’s been a lot of “stuff” we’ve all had to deal with, aside from growing business! The Chamber supported the recent request from the St. John Public school system for its upcoming Millage renewal.

We also support Constitutional Amendment #1.

We are looking for additional business professionals with an interest to improve our region and communities. As the Board gets ready for its annual retreat to set goals for the new year, we will need energetic, positive and talented professionals at the table.

What’s happening on the Business Development front?

We are offering a combination of “lunch n learns” and networking events. Being a membership organization, we take the needs of the members and build sessions around those needs.

• Oct. 12: Network Like a Champ, 11:30 a.m. at Belle Terre Country Club

• Oct. 26: Navigating the Healthcare Rollercoaster, 11:30 a.m. at Belle Terre Country Club

• Nov. 9: Holiday kickoff “Festive Fete” at 5:30 p.m. at Fireman’s Federal Credit Union

For more details on the above listed offerings, please contact us at 985-359-9777 or visit our website at

Sincerest thanks to our partners, Louisiana Small Business Development Council and Goldman Sachs 10K Small Businesses. We are in process of adding more offerings soon, so stay tuned.

If you’re a business that’s not yet a member, I would love the opportunity to meet and learn more about your business. We can work together.

If you join now, you can get 15 months of membership for the investment of 12. As always, it continues to be an honor to serve you, the business community of the River Region.
