Keller: Staying positive leads to better life

Zig Ziglar, an author and a great motivational speaker, wrote a book years ago titled, “Raising Positive Children in a Negative World.”

Someone gave me the book after my children were grown up. I wish I had read it when they were young.

I believe it would have definitely changed my attitude about many things and would have made me a better father.

Being a positive or negative person is a choice we all make.

In my lifetime, especially in the ministry of Get High on Life, the majority of people I encounter are negative and difficult to deal with, especially parents.

When speaking to different groups, I get attention by quoting the following message from “Success Motivation Institute” of Waco, Texas.

“Ninety-eight percent of the people in America die at age 21, but don’t get buried until they’re 85 or 90.”

That statement reminds me that negative people don’t live; they just exist.

If we live in a negative world, God’s plan is for us to grow in its midst without getting sucked into it.

When I speak about being negative or positive and share that it’s a choice, I suggest you choose to be positive.

Why?

Because positive people live longer, enjoy life to the fullest, don’t get sick as often and when they do, they recover faster.

The bottom line is: Be good to yourself and choose a positive lifestyle.

My Dad had a saying that he repeated often, “When the world gives you a lemon, make lemonade.”

Negative people are difficult to get along with and can be a great challenge.

The Bible says that the joy of the Lord is our strength. That’s positive and just might be an influence on negative people.
