RESERVE — Bonnie Dinvaut, coordinator of educational technology for the St. John the Baptist Parish Public School District, has been appointed to the board of directors for the Louisiana Association of Computer Using Educators.
Her appointment was made at the LACUE 2015 Conference, which took place last week in New Orleans.
“Technology integration is not an event,” Dinvaut said. “It should be an everyday part of our classroom — just like taking attendance.”
Dinvaut will serve as the area 3 director representing St. John the Baptist, Ascension, St. James, Assumption, St. Mary, Lafourche and Terrebonne parishes.
As area 3 director, Dinvaut will help coordinate activities relating to the educational use of technology, support local groups concerned with the educational uses of technology and interact with local, state and national agencies to establish guidelines concerning the use of technology in education.
She plans to promote equal opportunity for all students to enjoy the benefits of technology, promote the development of programs and standards for training educators and be a representative of her area’s viewpoints in the formulation of laws and regulations.
Dinvaut will also work with the Louisiana Department of Education, the state legislature and other governmental agencies in matters relating to technology in education.
Since 1985, the nonprofit LACUE has promoted the use of computers in education with the goal of using the power of technology to assist in the fulfillment of the goals of education.
