Members of the Harry Hurst Middle School Choir, under the direction of Karl Harrod, performed the Star Spangled Banner at the NBA’s Pelicans vs. Mavericks game Nov. 10.
Eighteen members of the choir, sporting their new Music Department shirts and red, white and blue pins, proudly sang the National Anthem before the game.
The Hurst Cheerleaders, led by sponsors Ericker Jackson and Melanie Zeringue, and the Hurst Runnerettes dance team, led by sponsors Lauren Waguespack and Missy Rome, were featured as the Pelicans Prime Time Performances.
The Pelicans were celebrating Veterans Day by honoring the many heroes of all the Armed Services.
The Victory Belles were the halftime entertainment. Barry Guillot and the Wetland Watchers coordinated the Hurst Wetland Watchers NIGHT WITH THE PELICANS. More than 250 tickets were sold to Hurst students and family members, who were recognized at halftime for having the largest group at the game.
