LAPLACE — Authorities said two males seen looking in vehicles and pulling on car door handles were arrested after being linked to other crimes. St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the intersection of Cambridge Drive and Woodland Drive at 11:40 a.m. Sunday.
“When deputies arrived in the area, they saw two individuals matching the description of subjects in the parking lot,” Sheriff Mike Tregre said in a release. “A computer check on the subjects revealed one subject, Roddy Johnson, 22, of Revere Drive was wanted on a St. John the Baptist Parish warrant for contempt of court.”
Deputies identified the second subject as a 16-year-old male juvenile who lived on Revere Drive. Tregre said the juvenile was in possession of “green vegetable like matter, suspected to be synthetic marijuana, wrapped in the shape of a cigarette.”
Johnson was booked with criminal mischief and a contempt of court warrant. He has been arrested ten times in St. John the Baptist Parish since November 2009, authorities said.
Deputies booked the 16-year-old male juvenile with criminal mischief and possession of schedule I controlled substance. He has been arrested ten times in St. John Parish since 2012. Authorities said the juvenile’s most recent arrest occurred July 5, when he was booked with illegal possession of a handgun by a juvenile.
