NEW ORLEANS — A Service Academy Day is planned from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at the Federal City Auditorium in New Orleans.
Registration begins at 9:30 a.m.
Representatives from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, the U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and U.S. Coast Guard Academy will explain the nomination process to potential applicants and the requirements for applying to each academy.
“Attending a service academy is a real honor and a great opportunity for students to serve our country and obtain a post-secondary education,” U.S. Sen. David Vitter said. “It’s sure to be an excellent opportunity for students and their families to learn more about the academies.”
Service Academy Day is free and open to the public.
All high school students and their parents are welcome to attend.
Students who are unable to attend can contact Vitter’s office at 504-589-2753 for more information on the application process.
