Sheriff’s Office teaching hunter education classes

KILLONA — The St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office is teaching Hunter Education Classes — Field Day Only — on dates between July and September at the Sheriff’s Office Range located in Killona.

The one-day courses are held on Saturdays for individuals who have taken the course online with the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.

Officials said an affidavit of the course completion must be brought to the class.

The time for the field days are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be held on the following Saturdays: July 11, 18, Aug. 8, 15, Sept. 12 and 26.

State Law requires all individuals born on or after Sept. 1, 1969, to obtain a hunting license prior to hunting in Louisiana.

Individuals must be 10 or older to be certified.
