LULING — Millennium Healthcare Management (MHM) Urgent Care announced Jan. 15 its acquisition of the East Jefferson Occupational Medicine Clinics in Metairie and Kenner and the St. Charles Occupational Medicine Clinic in Luling, establishing one of the largest regional networks of comprehensive health care for businesses in southeast Louisiana.

MHM Urgent Care officials say the acquisition of the three occupational medicine clinics will offer thousands of employers in the state a centralized and integrated system for providing quality health care to their injured workers.

While the new MHM Occupational Medicine Clinics will care for the needs of businesses and their employees, the MHM Urgent Care Centers will continue treating the ailments and injuries of the people in the communities they serve. Each of the 16 MHM Urgent Care Centers is open seven days a week with convenient hours ensuring ill parents can be served.

“MHM will now make it easier to treat injured workers seven days a week at any of our 16 centers throughout southeast Louisiana and include the subsequent rehabilitation process at our new Occupational Medicine Clinics,” Keith LeBlanc, chief executive officer of MHM Urgent Care said.

“We want to ensure the residents of southeast Louisiana that the MHM Urgent Care Centers are not changing, only expanding, and that expansion is going to benefit businesses and their employees alike.”

The new MHM Occupational Medicine Clinics will treat and rehabilitate injured employees and offer pre-employment medical screenings, including strict OSHA and FAA testing and substance abuse exams with an emphasis on preventative care and education.

“MHM will now have the largest urgent care and occupational medical care network in southeast Louisiana and will be able fully utilize its expertise in employee-related injuries, including the fields of toxicology, orthopedics, chemical exposures and epidemiology in the work environment,” said Dr. Gerald Cvitanovich, MHM’s chief medical director.

MHM’s network of urgent care centers include locations in New Orleans, Metairie, Kenner, Hammond, Houma, Luling, Mandeville, Thibodaux, Marrero, River Ridge and Lafayette.
