Gabriel “Gabby” Lauwaert entered into eternal rest Thursday, April 16, 2013, at the age of 71.
He is survived by Miriam Maples Lau-waert, his loving wife of 35 years. He was the father of Denise Howard-Hill, Tracey Howard, Lisa Howard Herbert (Jason) and Rebecca “Precious” Jones (Joshua). He was grandfather to 11 and great-grandfather to nine and brother to Mimi Daumy (Gaston).
He was a truck driver for 47 years and retired from Schneider with more than 5 million miles.
Services will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Millet Guidry Funeral Home, 2806 W. Airline Highway, LaPlace. Memorial services will be from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. with prayer to follow.
