Louisiana First Lady Supriya Jindal visited East St. John Elementary School Thursday to teach a model lesson on math and science to second graders in Judy Babin’s classroom. The school was chosen as one of this year’s recipients of a grant from the Supriya Jindal Foundation for Louisiana’s Children. The grant helped the school purchase six interactive white boards for use in first and second grade classrooms. To date, Jindal’s program has awarded white boards to more than 290 classrooms across Louisiana, including more than 30 in St. John the Baptist Parish.
