Judith Granier Borne, 69, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2012, while surrounded by her family. She was a native of Norco and a retired school bus driver with the St. Charles Parish School Board for 28 years.

She was the wife of the late Floyd B. Borne Sr., mother of Floyd B. Borne Jr. (Susan) and Gerard Borne (Melanie) and the grandmother of Gerard Borne Jr., Garrett Borne, Jarrod Borne and Jeffrey Borne. She was the sister of Edith Simoneaux, the late Bud Granier, Kenneth Granier, Claudette Granier and Claude Henry Granier and the daughter of the late Antoine Claude Granier and Rhea Catherine Dugas. Her second family for the last 10 years was Clifton V. Dixon Sr., Clifton V. Dixon Jr (Mary Beth) and their three children, Shay, Grace and Myles.

Visitation was held Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at H.C. Alexander Funeral Home in Norco. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, with Fr. Terry Becnel and Fr. Ray Hymel officiating. Interment followed in St. Charles Borromeo Mausoleum in Destrehan. Judith was a very devout Catholic. She was a “chef” when cooking for her family and friends, enjoyed collecting cookbooks and enjoyed eating seafood outside on the patio and watching cooking shows on the Food Network.

The family would like to express special thanks to the Ormond Care Center, Unity Nursing Home and the doctors and staff at Touro Infirmary in New Orleans, East Jefferson Hospital and Kindred Rehab Center.

Arrangements were under the direction of H.C. Alexander Funeral Home in Norco.
