Allen James, 57, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2011, at River Region Hospice in River Ridge.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy on the USS Goldsboro in the Vietnam War and a member of American Legion Post 366 and VFW Post 3337 and the Norco Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by two children, Sara and Jason James, two brothers, Michael and Warren James, and his mother, Lois Mae James. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Allen James.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, from 9 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Norco. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. from the church with Fr. Terry Becnel officiating. Military Honors will follow at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Destrehan.
