Laurent

Dorothy W. Laurent passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at 7:05 p.m. She was the strongest link in her family’s lives that will never be forgotten. Her strength will be forever with us. Preceded in death by her former husband, Ernest J. Laurent, Jr., her daughter Joni Laurent Roussel, her parents Sherman and Eunice Wood, Sr., brothers Sherman Jr., Dawson and Quinn Wood; sisters: Darlene Comer, and Doris Humphrey. She leaves to mourn her legacy, daughter, Lisa Laurent Switzer and husband Gary, son-in-law Dale J. Roussel, sisters Judy Youngblood and Dyrece Hardin & brother Douglas Wood along with their families; six grandchildren: Lee Roussel, Lara Switzer, Ashley and Lee Poche, Krissy and Corey Louque, Sadie and Steven Guillot, and Deanne and Denyer Garrett; 13 great-grandchildren: Ryan, Donovan and Harley Beauford, Mallory, Kaleigh, Maci and Rylee Louque, Ethan and Joni Poche, Ethan Jay and Terry Gulley and James Guillot; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be on Saturday, October 25, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Mausoleum, LA Hwy. 44, Paulina. Rose Lynn Funeral Services was in charge of the arrangements.

Allen

James D. “Jim” Allen on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008, at 1:05 a.m. Beloved husband of Linda Allen. Father of Sharon Houser, Randy Stegall, Donna Trinidad and Debbie Helms. Also survived by eight grandchildren , one deceased and 14 great-grandchildren. Son of Ruth Allen and the late Reuben Allen. Brother of Lillian Little and husband Joe, Margie Cross and husband Mike, Steve Allen and wife Laura, Roy Allen and wife Virginia and the late Paul Allen. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Best friend of Buddy Fowler and Randy Pumilla. Age 65. A native of North Carolina and a resident of LaPlace for the past 30 years.

Visitation and services were held at Millet-Guidry Funeral Home in LaPlace on Wednesday, Oct. 22. Burial to be private at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to The St. John Animal Shelter.

Diaz

Peggy Rogers Diaz, 47, died Thursday, October 9, 2008. The Temple, Texas, native is survived by husband Kenneth Diaz, sons Jeffery Rogers, Chance Diaz, Beau Diaz and Kenny Diaz, daughter Jamie Rogers, brothers Robert Zuehlke, Harvey Zuehlke, Joe Zuehlke and Marvin Zuehlke and sister Kathryn Warren.

She was preceded in death by parents Louis and Zelma Zuehlke.

Services were held on Wednesday, October 15, at First Lutheran Church in temple with interment in Moffet Cemetery in Temple.

Falterman

Nellie Aimee Falterman entered eternal rest on Wednesday, October 22, 2008. She was 90 years old. She was a resident of Montz for 54 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Enoch J. Falterman Sr., her daughter Marlene Falterman Lauer and by her sons Enoch Falterman, Jr. and baby Eric Falterman. Her parents were Joseph S. Perilloux and Clothilde Millet Perilloux of Montz and brother, Charles E. Perilloux. Nellie was a long time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norco.

Nellie is survived by her brothers, Joseph Perilloux and Arthur Perilloux and his wife, Shirley; sisters, Myrtle Heriard, Rita Milioto and Gladys McTopy; sons, Errol Falterman and his wife, Barbara, Philip Falterman and his wife, Joanne and Steven Falterman; Daughter, Judy Munsch and her husband, Louis. She had 11 grandchildren: Michelle Boudreaux and her husband, Don, James Falterman and his wife, Rebecca, Corey Falterman and his wife, Kristy, Kurt Falterman, Brian Falterman, Eric Sanchez, Father Chris Munsch, Jill Bessetti and her husband, Brad, Mindy Lauer, Dustin Falterman, and Kristin Falterman. She had eight great-grandchildren: Beau, Bentley, Marlene, Kelsie, Kayla, Heather, Justin and Sage.

Visitation and services were held on Friday, October 24, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial followed at St. Peter’s Mausoleum in Reserve.

Lakatos

Richard F. Lakatos on Monday, October 20, 2008, at 8:00 p.m. Beloved husband of Ginamarie Lakatos. Father of Richard T. and Nicholas E. Carbo. He was a decorated Marine from the Vietnam War belonging to the Gulf 2/7. Age 60. A native of Ohio and a resident of Luling for the past 10 years.

Burial will be private at a later date.

Munch

Dr. William Ronald Munch passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2008, at 5:50 a.m. at his residence at the age of 55. He was a native of St. Bernard Parish and had lived in LaPlace for the past 5 years.

Gregorian Requiem Mass in Latin was held on Friday, October 24, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Kenner. Interment followed at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Destrehan.

Munch is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Karen Davis Munch; one son, William Daniel Munch; two daughters, Melissa Munch McKie and Jennifer Kristin Munch; two brothers, Daniel Munch and Christopher Munch; one sister, Lisa Munch Demarest; two grandchildren, Cameron McKie and Madison Munch.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William P. and Elise B. Munch.

Picou

Edgar ‘”Green” Picou, a native of Convent and a resident of New Orleans for the past 54 years. Son of the late Clarence and Olivia Terry Picou. Brother of Clarence Picou Jr. Devoted friend of Beverly Watterson. Uncle of Rawlin, Timothy, Gerald, Jennifer and Jacqueline. Godfather of Kaysha and Kristen. Also survived by other relatives and friends. Age 79 years.

Visitation and services were held on Thursday, October 23, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Convent. Interment in St. Mary Cemetery in Convent.
