EDGARD — A weekend West Bank shooting left a St. Charles Parish man with a gunshot wound to his neck, authorities said.

St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre said deputies located the victim, described as a 26-year-old Killona man, at a residence in the 200 block of East 14th Street in Edgard.

The victim told deputies he was shot on East 6th Street in the 200 block.

Emergency medical services took the victim to a New Orleans-area hospital for medical treatment.

His current condition is unknown, and the investigation is ongoing, Tregre said.

Those who call Crimestoppers do not have to testify and may qualify for a cash reward.
