LAPLACE — The River Region Chamber of Commerce donated $2,500 of its proceeds from its annual golf tournament fundraiser to support local education at the South Central Louisiana Technical College Reserve Campus.

“The wonderful thing about these scholarships is that they are open to all of our programs,” SCLTC Reserve Campus Dean Penny Freeman said. “A large section of our students benefit from these scholarships.”

The Chamber strongly supports the educational programs of local schools and continuing education for students attending local community and technical colleges.

“We feel honored to have raised this money to put back into our community, specifically to our local schools, where the students will become our future leaders and business owners,” said Chassity McComack, River Region Chamber of Commerce executive director.

“The scholarship committee at South Central Louisiana Technical College Reserve Campus will determine how the funding will be distributed.”
