LULING — The St. Charles Parish Department of Parks and Recreation has partnered with the New Orleans Pelicans for their upcoming youth basketball season.

Registration is open until Oct. 23.

“We are thrilled that we will be the first Recreation basketball program to partner with our local NBA franchise,” St. Charles Parish Parks and Recreation Director Duane Foret said. “This partnership will make our program even more special for our youth by providing some unique opportunities made possible through the Pelicans.”

The partnership will provide players with Junior Pelicans branded basketball jerseys and shorts, one ticket to a Pelicans game and league benefits that include membership in the Junior National Basketball Association (JNBA) program.

Friends and family of JNBA members will also be able to purchase discounted Pelicans tickets. The fee to register for youth basketball is a discounted rate of $45.

To register for youth basketball, residents must contact their affiliated booster clubs. A list of the booster clubs and their contact information can be found by going to stcharlesparish-la.gov/recreation, and clicking under “Youth Sports.”
